Yes we all suffer from large pores! And it's very frustrating. It may be impossible to get rid of large pores, but you can for sure minimize their appearance. Here are few tips we use to minimize our pores.
Scrubbing your face regularly is the first step. Sugar is a wonderful ingredient that you can find in your kitchen and naturally removes dead skin, reduces the appearance, large pores and blackheads, while removing toxins. (See our home made Lemon Sugar Scrub)
Clay mask is amazing for pulling out any impurities and it completely works like a magnet and pulls out all the oil secretion and dirt in your pores, which shrinks and makes them look smaller and clean. The Boots Botanics Conditioning Clay Mask is our favorite and is an amazing clay mask we recommend for women and men. For oily skin use twice a month and dry skin once a month!
Here are ingredients and instruction on how to make your own home made mask.
Ingredients:
2 Egg Whites
1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
1 Teaspoon Apple Cider Vinegar
Mix all the ingredients in a bowl, then apply on your face and let it sit for 10 minutes. Rinse with warm water and follow with toner to make sure pores are closed. Start using the mask once a week, once pores are minimized use every other week.
Most skincare experts' advice is to avoid using products that are strong like certain toners or astringents that have too much alcohol that can dry your skin. When skin becomes overly dry, our oil glands produce excess oils, which can clog pores and enlarge them. We advise you to use more natural ingredients and less alcohol.
Sun damage may cause wrinkles, sun spots, and damage pores which makes them appear large. So apply SPF everyday to keep your pores looking tight and healthy.
Heavy makeup with oil content clogs pores. Try switching to oil free cosmetics and wear less makeup.
Here are a few products that you can add to your skincare routine to help minimize pores.
- Clarins Pore Minimizing Serum
- Est'ee Lauder Idealist Pore Minimizing Skin Refinisher
- Clinique Pore Minimizing Refining Serum
Hope these tips help you with your large pores and don't forget to be patient it takes time to see results, it's not an overnight change!

We all got some large pores problems. I do the sugar scrub once in a while and also some Olay products. The key is the daily cleansing i think. Besos.
